We're too busy to make something complicated. But we don't want to sacrifice on flavor. You sure don't with these burgers. Roasting your Jalapeños and garlic puts another level of flavor in these that is mouth watering. Want to try them out? Let's go!
First you will want to cook (roast) your whole jalapenos and garlic (skins on) in 1 teaspoon of avocado oil on medium to high heat. We put a lid on it and hold tight and shake it up every minute or so. Cook approximately 10 minutes. You want all the side to start to brown and the color starts to take on a luminescent color.
Set these aside to cool off.
While those are cooking, in a mixing bowl, put your ground chicken, chopped cilantro, cumin, and a dash of salt & pepper.
When your garlic is cooled, remove the skins and mince them. When the jalapenos are cooled. Cut off the stems, slice in half lengthwise and remove the seeds ( we choose to leave some ). Now you can chop them up. Add these to your mixing bowl.
With clean hands, thoroughly combine all the ingredients. ( its VERY sticky)
When it's completely mixed together, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least an hour or longer. This helps to firm it up, especially if you choose to grill them. Today we are frying them on the stove.
Pull them out, form 4 patties ( 1/4 pound/112g each ) and cook these up! We cooked them in the same pan we used for the jalapenos and garlic for about 4-5 minutes on side. That's it! Time to put everything together and eat!
Today, we used Whole Wheat hamburger buns, mustard, ketchup, tomato, butter lettuce and light mayo. Sometimes we use Sandwich thins, cheese and Spinach. Whatever you choose to use, this burger will compliment it all.
Since you may not use the EXACT buns or toppings that we did, we are giving the nutritional information on the CHICKEN PATTIES only.
