So here we are, at the grocery store buying a box of cereal. We're trying to be good. No artificial flavors, colors, preservatives or high fructose corn syrup. Plus, whole grain rice is it's first ingredient. Low in fat, low in sugar.
But wait! Look at that recipe on the back of the box!
"GET BEHIND ME TEMPTATION!"
We ended up buying the box anyway, why you ask? Well, we figured out a way we could make those most delicious treats with a BUFF DUDE twist.
We omitted the butter. Also, we used a Natural Old Fashioned Peanut Butter (with it's natural oils, you need to mix it well) We used Dark Chocolate. Remember, with Dark Chocolate you get higher flavonoids with benefits such as,
TIP: Roughly 1 to 2 ounces of DARK Chocolate (72% or higher ) a day will be beneficial.
Then, we replaced the Powdered Sugar with MuscleTechs Vanilla Protein Powder (so we omitted the vanilla extract).
Is it to good to be true? How does it taste? Well, lets make it and find out!
Pour all of your cereal into a large mixing bowl and set it aside.
Next, place you Dark Chocolate chips into a microwavable bowl and pour your Natural Peanut Butter on top. Place this into your microwave and cook for one minute on high. Take it out and "MIX!" Cook one more minute and "MIX". It should be melted in just two minutes.
Time to pour this mixture over the cereal and "MIX!"
Now you'll sprinkle the two scoops of Protein Powder over this sticky mess and...you guessed it, "MIX!"
TIP: Scrap the bowl and fold it over the cereal. Repeat over and over. This way you are not breaking the cereal up.
Your last step is to place this onto a Parchment paper covered cookie sheet and place it into your freezer for up to 30 minutes.
When you pull it out of the freezer, its time to serve it up! Or, if you want it to last a bit longer, place it into baggies and keep it in the freezer, ( we put 2 servings into each baggie, that way, we don't over it eat at one sitting ).
We hope you enjoy these Muscle Buddies as much as we do.
